The short version

SnapClack works entirely on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded, and there is no account to create.

What the app touches

When you pick photos, SnapClack copies a smaller version of each into its own storage on the device, so a project survives you deleting the original. Those copies are removed with the project.

Saving a finished video asks for permission to add to your photo library. That is add-only: the app cannot read your library.

Recording your own sound asks for the microphone. The take is analysed and stored on the device like everything else; nothing you record is uploaded anywhere.

What leaves the device

Crash reports, and nothing else. If the app crashes, a report describing where in the code it happened is sent to a self-hosted GlitchTip instance. It contains no photos, no file names and no personal information.

There is no analytics, no advertising identifier, and no third-party SDK beyond the crash reporter.

This site

These pages are static files served by nginx. There are no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. The server keeps ordinary access logs — an address, a URL and a timestamp — for a short period, to see whether it is up.
